Teaching

Hi, I’m Sophie (she/her)! I am a ****Computer Science ****PhD candidate at the University of Wisconsin—Madison, where I am part of the MadS&P research group. I am advised by Professor Rahul Chatterjee.

I am also the Director of Operations at the Madison Tech Clinic, which provides direct service to survivors of technology-facilitated abuse across Wisconsin.

Broadly, I research interpersonal security & privacy (S&P). Through qualitative and system-building methods, I seek to (1) combat technology-facilitated abuse, hate, and harassment, and (2) study how digital S&P is negotiated and understood within non-adversarial interpersonal relationships. My work has been published in top S&P and HCI venues including USENIX Security, ACM CHI, ACM CSCW, and IEEE S&P.
